Chocolate Dessert Recipe

Most people have a favorite chocolate dessert recipe whether it's a chocolate cake recipe, a chocolate brownie recipe or a chocolate chip cookie recipe. But a favorite chocolate dessert recipe at Christmas is fudge. We have a recipe for chocolate fudge with a surprise secret ingredient.

A Surprise Chocolate Fudge Recipe
It's Christmastime, and a lot of people like to make fudge. For many, it's the only time of year they'll make--or eat--fudge. After you see the ingredients in this particular chocolate dessert recipe, you'll understand why.

Chocolate Cheese Fudge (from Paula Deen of "Paula's Home Cooking")
1/2 pound Velveeta cheese, sliced
1 cup butter
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup chopped nuts, pecans, walnuts
2 (16-ounce) boxes confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder

1. Spray lightly the bottom of a 9 by 2-inch square pan with a nonstick spray.
2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the cheese and butter together, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and add the vanilla and nuts.
3. In a large bowl sift together the sugar and cocoa. Pour the cheese mixture into the sugar and cocoa mixture and stir until completely mixed. The candy will be very stiff.
4. Using your hands, remove candy from bowl and press evenly and firmly into pan. Because of the amount of butter in this recipe, pat the top of the candy with a paper towel to remove the excess oil. Place pan in refrigerator until candy is firm.
5. To serve candy, cut into squares.

So what did you think of that chocolate recipe? Brave enough to try it? Sure you are! And if you decide to have a pre-Christmas cocktail party, Sandra Lee has a recipe for a White Chocolate Covered Cherry Martini your guests won't soon forget. (Sure, it's not a chocolate dessert recipe, but it sure sounds sweet enough to be one.)

White Chocolate Covered Cherry Martini
Ice
1 part white chocolate liqueur
1 part vanilla flavored vodka
1 tablespoon grenadine, per glass
Maraschino cherries, for garnish

1. Add white chocolate liqueur and vodka to a pitcher filled with ice.
2. Shake to chill and strain into martini glass.
3. Slowly pour a small amount of grenadine along edge of glass. (It will sink to bottom.)
4.Garnish with a maraschino cherry on rim of glass.

If you have a favorite chocolate dessert recipe, let us know about it!
